Sarah has a background in commercial fisheries in Alaska, Puget Sound and off the Washington Coast. She has fished on a troller, spent time on a factory trawler in the Bering Sea, and spent nine seasons purse-seining in Southeast Alaska. She has bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Washington.
Sarah currently is working on several projects, which include coordinating various marine technology workshops for commercial fishermen and recreational boaters, coordinating U.S. Coast Guard-required safety programs for commercial fishermen, working with tribal and non-tribal fishermen on seafood quality and marketing efforts, and co-sponsoring the Salmon Keta Cookoff event.
